Don Wiley and Paul Gordon's Texas Chargers
"The Texas Chargers"
Limited-Edition Print of 500 (13x19) prints signed and numbered by the Artist.
...By 1970, the 68 Charger bodies had been stretched to the max. It's easy to spot a 70 car, because they ran no rear wings that year.
We see here two Texan Longhorns doing battle in their 1970 Dodge Chargers. Don Wiley in his "Plum Crazy" Dodge, and Paul Gordon in the "Red Baron" Charger...
Don Wiley from Balch Springs Texas, was probably better known for his driving the "Mystical Magic" 72 Cuda, and he also drove the "Hippie Hemi."
Paul Gordon from Denton Texas, also drove for Harry Schmidt as the first "Blue Max" driver. He also drove the "Hemi Hoss', and Hunt & Taylor's 70 Mustang.
Wiley did manage to get his charger in the sixes running a best of 6.91 at 210mph, while Gordon could only muster a 7.10 at 204 in his "Red Baron".
I love being able to shine a light on seldom seen cars, so I hope you enjoy my "Texas Chargers!" DCP
